When I first saw this movie, I was like in my late teens or early twenties and it had a huge impact on me. Of course I was already a rebellious metal head and interested in the dark sides of life. Interests like horror, underground music, black leather just came as a second nature. 

These were still the days of VHS and video rental stores. Basically the videostore was for the movie fan what the library was for the reader. Here one tried to find hidden gems of terror. The imaginative and arousing frontcovers were generally what drew people in. Mostly hand drawn illustrations of monsters, maniacs and scarcely clad women. Of course it mattered where you went. If you, like me, were dependent of local regional video stores your choice was limited. So after already having consumed a wide range of gruesome, gory and violent horror movies, I finally extended my horizon to the big city and saw what the videostores there had to offer. In those times there was a place called the “Cultvideotheek” which was especially interesting for freaks like me. This videostore specialized in all the normally hard to find arthouse and cult classics; things that were already known to me, yet I had only seen the tip of the iceberg so far. A world of obscure darkness and fantasy had opened up for me. Here you could wander around and mesmerize while staring at all the weird and freaky wonders of the underground...
