A CULTURAL🫀
FOR MERCATORPLEIN
Supermercator has long been the under-the-radar living room of Mercatorplein; a cultural meeting place where people come together for music, poetry, film, art and all kinds of glorious cross-pollination. Over the years, we have resisted becoming either commercial or overly conceptual, believing that there are precious few spaces left in this city genuinely open to experiment, spontaneity and collaboration.
But to keep this place alive, something needs to change.
We can no longer sustain Supermercator on cultural programming alone. To survive, and to secure its future as a place of the people, we need to grow into a daily café, serving wholesome breakfast and lunches, organising community dinners, workshops and selling homemade goodies in our shop.
The Supermercator Café will become the financial backbone of our cultural home, allowing us to keep our evenings as diverse, adventurous and accessible as we believe they should be.
This is not simply an ambition, it is a necessity. And we cannot make it happen alone. We need your contribution to turn this necessity into reality. By helping us build the Supermercator Café, you are doing more than supporting a physical space. You are helping to preserve a rare kind of freedom in the city; a place where people can meet without an agenda, where ideas can take shape, talents can emerge, and unexpected things can happen...
We have built something precious together, now we need to make sure it can stay. One meal, one conversation, one wild idea at a time.
Help us keep Supermercator alive and grow it's roots for many years to come!
