We’re still on the exploitation trail with quite an obscure flick from the 70’s: Larry Cohen’s 'Bone' aka 'The Houswife'.
A very strange film by a known exploitation film director, who directed some famous blaxploitation movies, like Black Caesar and Hell up in Harlem and later the cult Maniac Cop series.
Larry Cohen’s first feature film and perhaps his most controversial. Basically a black comedy crime movie with some interesting twists. Who could think that a home invasion and attempted rape could lead to comedy? Yes, this movie really pushes the boundaries of what we consider to be normal, as was typical of movies from this time period. A movie that touches some very heavy subjects like racism, sexuality, inequality and prejudice in American society. In many ways it’s a sort of satire of American society at the time, but in a very confronting and sometimes surreal way. Exploitation with a very serious edge.
Don’t miss this very special screening of a movie that is almost impossible to see in any theatre now, except for Supermercator's.
